Speech processing systems often introduce degradations. To determine the perceptual consequences of these artifacts, listening test are used, but these are costly and time consuming, and may be subjective. Here, we propose accurate and reliable objective evaluation methods to replace listening tests, at least in some stages of the algorithm development process.
