MSc thesis project proposal

Radar orientation in GNSS-denied areas (16.03.2023)

Project outside the university

Robin Radar Systems

This project can be done as an internship.

Vehicle-mounted radar systems constantly change in attitude and position. To facilitate the tracking of targets, the radar needs high-accuracy data on its position and orientation.

Especially recording the position and bearing relies heavily on GNSS data, which is not always available. In conflict areas, GNSS is often jammed and unusable. Using a laser gyro might be the solution to reliably record bearing.

In this assignment, we are looking for a theoretical analysis of the requirements of such a solution, looking at different solutions in the market and experimenting with one or more of them in combination with our systems.
