EE4620 Spectral domain methods in electromagnetics
Topics: Antenna Imaging, Antennas in reception, Fourier Optics, Connected Array Antennas, Artificial dielectric materials
The course covers the following topics:
- Green's functions of stratified media (6 hours)
- Dominant spectral contributions and far-field (4 hours)
- Surface waves and leaky waves (6 hours)
- Artificial dielectric materials (4 hours)
- Spectral representations for planar Tx-lines (4 hours)
- Connected arrays (10 hours)
Study goals:
The students will be able to
- apply spectral domain methods for the analysis of a number of electromagnetic problems (planar transmission lines, artificial dielectrics, optical systems)
- create functional MATLAB scripts that implement the studied methods
- present and critically analyze the results obtained with the MATLAB codes
